Robert E Nordin - Programmer

"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do." - Steve Jobs

I love my job. I've been programming for 32 years and it's never old, never boring, it's always that fresh new puzzle that needs to be solved.

Most of my programming career has been focused on PxPlus and it's predecessor, ProvideX. The PxPlus version of Business Basic has surpassed all expectations of the language, including such features as Windows Event Handling and JSON Support.

I've been working with PxPlus since Sage Software decided to move Sage 100 ERP (previously MAS 90 and MAS 200) off Basis BBx in favor of the more robust offering.

Working with HighTower, a Sage Development Partner, since it's beginnings in 1987, I was part of the team that converted Sages' character based Accounts Receivable module to their first graphical release in 1996. I also helped release several major enhancements to the Sage 100 product line, including Timekeeper, Point of Sale and Multi-Bin, now SWK products.

As an independant consultant, I created an enhancement to Timekeeper, Timekeeper Worksheet, with an enhanced user interface that extended to the internet.

I am now working with MBA Business Software in Atlanta. MBA Business Software has been serving accounting software needs in the southeast since 1981. If you have a project, let us know!

I've colaborated with several respected PxPlus developers across the country. Contact information for developers in your area is available on your request via my Contact page.

Hablo español, pero muy poco. Mi esposa de veinte años es mexicana y puertorriqueña, así que ella le ayudará con la traducción si es necesario.

Providing balance to my sedentary profession, I am a certified Group Exercise Instructor. I work part-time at LA Fitness, teaching Step and Body Works classes. Visit LA Fitness for my Mt Prospect, Round Lake Beach and Glenview schedules!
